Adjusting the game mode on your Empyrion: Galactic Survival server lets you tailor how challenging or relaxed the experience will be for your players. Whether you want a classic Survival setup, a more forgiving Creative environment, or a high‑stakes Hardcore playthrough, the game mode determines core mechanics such as difficulty, resource management, and player progression. This guide walks you through where to find the game mode settings, how to update them safely, and what to expect when the server reloads with your new configuration. By the end, you’ll be able to fine‑tune your server’s gameplay experience to match your community’s preferred style.
Configuring Game Modes on Your Empyrion: Galactic Survival Server
1. Log in to your Game Control Panel, then head over to your server service.
2. Before making any changes, stop the server by clicking the Stop button.

3. Navigate to the Configuration Files Task section.

4. In the Configuration Files section, locate the MyDedicatedConfig.yaml file, then open it by selecting the Config Editor next to the Text Editor.

5. In the Config Editor, locate the Game Mode option and select the mode you want to use.

6. After making changes, click the Save button to apply.

If you want to change the server name directly in the file instead of using our UI, you can click Configuration Files, look for the Text Editor beside the Config Editor, and make the changes from there.

This ensures that any custom changes you’ve made, such as mods or custom scenarios, are preserved and won’t be overwritten by the Config Editor preset.
